Nos hemos embarcado en un viaje reflexivo, entrelazando los orígenes, aromas y sabores del chai con Siddhartha, la novela de Herman Hesse publicada por primera vez en 1922. En este viaje, profundizamos en los ejes que atraviesan la introspección espiritual del personaje: la cuestión de identidad, la importancia del ritual, y el lugar de la naturaleza en simbiosis con los movimientos materiales y comerciales del chai. Poco a poco, los movimientos de uno y de otro permiten visibilizar el juego que se lleva a cabo en la construcción de identidades. ¿Alguien recuerda su primera lectura de Siddhartha? (¡O quizá esta es la primera aproximación!) La propuesta de esta sesión es volver a leer , volver a una lectura que, para muchos, define el primer encuentro con las ideas de vacío y de iluminación espiritual, los primeros encuentros con el budismo. ¿Cómo lo leeríamos hoy?

We have embarked on a reflective journey, intertwining the origins, aromas, and flavors of chai with Siddhartha, the novel by Herman Hesse first published in 1922. On this journey, we delve deep into the axes that cross the spiritual introspection of the character: the question of identity, the importance of ritual, and the place of nature in symbiosis with the material and commercial movements of chai in India. Little by little, their movements shed light on the play involved in constructing identities. Do you remember your first reading of Siddhartha? (Or maybe this would be your first approach!) The proposal for this session is to reread, to return to a reading that, for many, marks the first encounter with ideas of emptiness and spiritual enlightenment, the initial interactions with Buddhism. How would we read it today?
